In the middle of constructing his splendiferous garden overlooking downtown Toronto, Club Monaco founder and all-purpose fashion mogul Joe Mimran turned his attention to his landscape architect Ron Holbrook and observed, “If there is such a thing as a second life, I want to come back as a landscape architect.” Holbrook seems to get that a lot. Not long ago, interior designer and TV personality Brian Gluckstein confessed a similar “second-coming ambition” to Holbrook. And why not? It is hard to imagine anyone who enjoys his work more than the Toronto-based garden designer who has become, in recent years, Canada’s landscape architect to the stars
